WHITE LION AT PUMBA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE
Pumba Private Game Reserve, home to one of only three free-ranging populations of White Lion in South Africa, is found in the heart of the Eastern Cape 15 km outside of Grahamstown, on the N2 from Port Elizabeth which is a mere hours drive away. Since the discovery of this recessive gene (not albinism) in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve which adjoins the Kruger National Park, the White Lion has formed the focus of many breeding programmes throughout the world, of which Pumba Private Game Reserve is one.
